At a recent meeting the Enterprise City Council approved a proposal from Alpha Engineering to develop a plan set for a new fire station building that will eventually be part of a community center building and complex. The council has also been involved in completing surveys of our community in hopes we can qualify for funding for CDBG funds available from the local Five County Association of Governments.
Our fleet of ambulance, rescue, and fire vehicles far exceeds our ability to properly house them all and several are stored outside. In the future the City will be under contract to provide emergency services to the North Central Fire District. This will provide the City an annual payment to offset the costs of expanding our primary service area to outside of our municipal boundaries. In order to effectively provide this service, we have acquired some additional vehicles including a large water tanker and another 6X6 all terrain truck. Our rescue squad truck carries a complete extrication package as well as a tank and pump for quick response to all types of emergencies. Combined with some expert trained volunteers, we have a diverse fleet of vehicles to help our residents in their time of need.
